A new style of police station has opened in Ethiopia. This station operates without any police officers inside.

Instead of officers, computer tablet screens glow inside partitioned booths. There is no front desk where people wait to be seen.

This is a pilot project for what is being called a "smart" police station. It is located in the Bole area of Ethiopia.

This "unmanned" station aims to change how people interact with law enforcement.

Citizens can use the tablets to report crimes or ask questions. The goal is to make the process quicker and more modern.

The project is a new approach to policing in Ethiopia.

Further details about its operation and effectiveness have not been fully released.
