According to the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Franko Herbal Mixture has been recalled from the market due to the presence of diazepam and paracetamol. Although the product was registered to contain only plant-based ingredients, laboratory analysis confirmed it was adulterated with these pharmaceutical substances. The FDA has directed that the product be withdrawn from all shelves across the country within 14 days. In addition to the recall, the FDA has shut down the manufacturing facility operated by Franko Herbal Centre in Jacobu, located in the Ashanti Region. The Authority stated that the company could face potential criminal prosecution if it fails to comply with the recall and closure directives. The FDA cited the Public Health Act, 2012 (Act 851), which prohibits the sale of adulterated herbal products. Consumers have been advised to stop using the mixture immediately and to consult healthcare professionals if they experience adverse symptoms.
