The Ghana National Ambulance Service is struggling to provide life-saving care due to severe shortages of oxygen. Dr Simon Akayiri Nyaaba highlighted this critical issue.

Dr Nyaaba, who is the Deputy Director for Policy, Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation at the service, explained that ambulances rely heavily on oxygen for patients.

He also pointed out that the service faces challenges due to a lack of dedicated funding. This makes it difficult to maintain essential supplies and operations.

These shortages collectively undermine emergency response efforts. This impacts the ability to reach and treat individuals needing urgent medical attention across the country.

The situation was disclosed by Dr Nyaaba during public comments revealing the operational difficulties faced by the ambulance service.
