According to the Minister for the Interior, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, more than 90 per cent of people displaced by conflict in the Savannah Region have returned to their homes within three months. He stated on Joy FM that the violence had displaced over 40,000 people, with some seeking refuge in neighbouring countries. The situation was described as a significant security challenge requiring a curfew, security operations, and dialogue to restore calm. A committee was established to mediate between the involved parties, which helped facilitate the return of the displaced residents. A standing committee has also been formed to maintain ongoing dialogue between the communities. The Minister noted that despite disagreements escalating into violence, the affected communities share deep social and family ties. He also commented on Ghana's overall improved security situation since 2025, citing fewer curfews and a period without gunfire in Bawku.
