According to the Central North Regional Police Command, Albert Ogoe, a phone dealer and elder of the Pentecost Church, was arrested by personnel from the Police Intelligence Unit at the National Police Headquarters. This arrest was in connection with an alleged GH¢200,000 fraud case. Mr. Ogoe was apprehended at his hideout and taken to Accra to assist with investigations. Chief Superintendent Edmund Agyemang Badu stated that Mr. Ogoe was reluctant to contact his family due to his position as a church elder and concerns about public knowledge of his involvement. The police subsequently informed his wife of his arrest. However, his family later reported him as kidnapped, leading to the spread of abduction reports. The police have debunked the kidnapping claims and urged the public to disregard them, assuring residents of their commitment to maintaining peace and security.
