The Northern Regional Special Operations Team, known as RED MARIA, conducted an operation on Thursday, October 8, in the Fuo and Kukuo areas of Tamale. Seven suspects were arrested in Fuo for alleged drug use. In Kukuo, five more suspects were apprehended, with three found to be in possession of firearms. The police retrieved two locally manufactured pistols, one pump-action gun, six sachets of Tramadol, and 25 wraps of suspected Indian hemp. The arrested individuals and seized items have been transferred to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department and the Drug Law Enforcement Unit for further investigation. The police commended the RED MARIA team for the intelligence-led operation and stated that those arrested would face prosecution.
