The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested a 31-year-old man, identified as Saviour Dzadze, after discovering firearms and suspected Indian hemp at his residence. According to a police statement, the arrest occurred at the Kpando Circuit Court premises on September 14. The suspect is being held on suspicion of unlawful possession of firearms, cultivating suspected narcotics, and threatening death. The case began on September 8 when a complaint was filed alleging the suspect threatened to kill an individual at gunpoint. A search of the suspect's home yielded an AK-47 assault rifle, a pump-action shotgun, a locally made single-barrel gun, ten AAA Lion cartridges, and a quantity of substances suspected to be Indian hemp. Investigators are looking into claims that the suspect traded cultivated Indian hemp for the AK-47 and received the shotgun from his brother. The suspect is in custody assisting with investigations.
