A 35-year-old man and his pregnant wife have been found dead in their room at Kportorgboe, a suburb of Anloga in the Volta Region. The incident has left residents in shock. The deceased have been identified as Daniel Agbenyegah, a mason, and his wife, Patience Awumee. Ms Awumee was approximately seven months pregnant. Preliminary information suggests the man allegedly killed his wife with a knife before taking his own life, though this remains unverified pending police confirmation. The throats of both deceased were slashed. The couple had reportedly returned from visiting the woman's parents shortly before the incident occurred. The police have removed the bodies and deposited them at the Keta Municipal Hospital Morgue for autopsy. The Assembly Member for the area urged residents to cooperate with the police investigation.
