A man has allegedly shot his wife dead and then turned the gun on himself at Tosen, a community near Adum-Boso in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, Adom Online reports.
The incident happened on Saturday, and police have started investigations into the circumstances surrounding the two deaths.
An eyewitness, a commercial motorbike rider identified only as Emmanuel, told Adom Online he heard two gunshots while riding through the area. He said he first assumed the shots were linked to a ceremony taking place in the community, but realised moments later that something serious had happened. He said he went straight to the police station to report it.
Police officers later visited the scene and conveyed both bodies to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The motive for the alleged shooting is not yet known, and residents say they are struggling to understand what led to the incident. Neither the man nor his wife has been named in the reports.
