Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has criticised the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) over the continued detention of suspects in the 3.9-tonne cocaine bust case.
According to Citi Newsroom, Mr Kpebu, who represents Kweku Otchere, one of the accused, alleged on 28 October 2026 that the detentions were intended to appease public anger rather than based on sufficient evidence.
NACOC arrested three suspects on 12 September following the seizure of a shipment by French customs, and the prosecution later added more suspects.
NACOC says the suspects remain in its custody and are assisting with investigations. All the accused are presumed innocent.
