The Accra High Court has adjourned the criminal proceedings involving Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, over an alleged financial loss exceeding GH¢30 million to the Ghana Export-Import Bank.
According to Graphic Online, the court fixed 2 and 3 November 2026 for further proceedings after disclosure documents filed by the prosecution were not available to the court.
Deputy Attorney-General Dr Justice Srem-Sai said the documents had been filed in two batches on 23 and 26 October.
Defence lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea told the court that he obtained the documents on 27 October and required time to examine them.
The case concerns allegations that money was obtained from Exim Bank in 2018 using false representations and documents allegedly forged or altered.
Antwi-Boasiako faces five charges, including defrauding by false pretences, money laundering and intentionally causing financial loss to a public body.
He has pleaded not guilty. The prosecution has not yet called its first witness in this case.
