An unemployed man, Kwame Agyapong, alias Michael Osei, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for attempted robbery and two years for causing harm by an Adenta Circuit Court.
The sentences are to run concurrently. According to Chief Inspector Eric Abban, prosecuting, Agyapong attacked a mobile money vendor, Christian Owusu, with a machete in an attempt to rob him of GH¢40,000 on June 5, 2025, near Adenta Accountancy.
The court, presided over by Mrs Angela Attachie, convicted Agyapong after a full trial, during which he had pleaded not guilty. The court also ordered that the time he spent in custody be deducted from his sentence.
