According to APOWA, the incident is heartbreaking and a betrayal of trust. The association is demanding immediate accountability and transparency from the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Ministry of Education, and law enforcement agencies.
APOWA wants the victims to undergo medical examinations, and for investigative bodies to probe the motive behind the alleged violation of 19 girls. The group also wants the students to receive psychological counselling to stabilize their mental health. APOWA referenced this year's International Day of the Girl Child, which focused on ending child marriage and investing in the rights of the girl child.
