According to MyJoy News, a nine-member committee investigating disturbances at Obuasi Senior High Technical School has concluded that no witnesses observed the headmaster burying a foetus on the school compound.

The committee found that allegations linking the headmaster to the burial were unsubstantiated by direct evidence. Furthermore, claims that the headmaster’s vehicle was seen at the site were dismissed, as the location is inaccessible by vehicle. The report states that the remains were discovered by students and exhumed by a team led by the Assistant Headmaster before the headmaster was notified.

Additionally, the committee investigated claims that the headmaster secretly handed a cutlass to a student after emerging from the bush. Findings revealed the cutlass belonged to a school labourer and was handed over openly to be delivered to a mechanic. The committee noted that its investigation was hindered by teachers who refused to identify the students involved in the initial discovery of the remains.

The committee's findings relate only to the foetus-burial claim. Separate allegations of sexual misconduct involving students at the school remain under investigation, and a CID probe remains open, according to Chale News.

No one has been charged or convicted in connection with those allegations, and anyone accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court. GhanaCrimes does not identify students in this case.
