The Ghana Police Service, through the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), has established approximately nine centres across the country to address complaints from drivers who dispute electronic traffic violation notices issued under the TRAFFITECH-GH system. Motorists have a 14-day window to challenge these notices, either online or by visiting one of the designated centres for assistance, according to the MTTD. ACP Alexander Kwaku Obeng, Director of Education, Research and Training at the MTTD, stated during a media engagement that the system allows drivers who believe they have been wrongly cited to present their reasons and supporting evidence. These centres are equipped with systems linked to the MTTD's back office in Accra, enabling officers to review records and investigate complaints. Each case will be assessed on its individual merits, with police examining documents and verifying claims before deciding whether to withdraw a traffic notice. ACP Obeng provided an example where a vehicle reported stolen before committing a traffic offence could have its notice withdrawn after verification with the reporting police station.
