The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has warned the public against attacking its officers, stating that the full force of the law will be applied to anyone who assaults or obstructs them. This warning follows an alleged assault on GRA officers at Jamila Home in Westlands, Accra, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, during a VAT compliance exercise. The GRA has invited a staff member from Jamila Home to assist with the investigation. According to Joseph Annang, Accra Central Area Enforcement Officer of the GRA, the Authority is committed to protecting its officers and ensuring law enforcement. He emphasized that attacking a GRA officer is equivalent to attacking the Commissioner General and will not be tolerated. Annang added that while the GRA aims to be customer-centric and friendly, it will respond with the full force of the law to any unlawful actions taken against its personnel.
