The State Housing Company (SHC) Limited has given illegal occupants of its lands a final two-day notice to vacate, after a 21-day ultimatum expired. This action precedes a national effort to reclaim state lands that have been encroached upon. According to SHC Deputy Managing Director, Samuel Atukwei Quaye, individuals with valid claims can still regularize their status before enforcement measures begin. The company is also warning potential buyers to confirm land ownership with the SHC before making any payments to prevent the unlawful acquisition of state properties. Mr. Quaye stated that unlike previous instances where warnings were not followed by action, the SHC intends to take serious enforcement measures this time. He appealed to Ghanaians to comply with the necessary procedures.
