President John Dramani Mahama has commended the Ghana Police Service, describing their performance as a "yeoman's job." He specifically credited the administration led by COP Tetteh Yuhuno with reducing highway robberies and resolving murder cases. The President made these remarks during the commissioning of a new 85-bed ward complex at the Police Hospital in Accra. Mahama also highlighted Ghana's reputation as a safe nation in West Africa. This event follows the government's decision to complete the stalled expansion of the Police Hospital, a project that had been delayed for 22 years. The government plans to allocate approximately GH₵200 million in the 2027 Budget to finalize the expansion by the end of that year. The Police Hospital serves both police personnel and the general public, and the new ward will increase its patient capacity. According to MyJoyOnline, President Mahama urged the police to maintain their good work.
