Sharif Mahmud, 23, Abdallah Karim, 25, and James Alena, 25, were arrested at Suame in Kumasi at about 1:40am on Sunday, 1 November 2026.
The three are suspected members of a motorcycle gang allegedly involved in illegal midnight races, blocking public roads, and attacking and robbing people in the Breman, Kronum and Suame area of the Ashanti Region.
Officers had been monitoring the group after its members repeatedly evaded arrest. Several other members escaped during the operation and are being pursued.
The three, who are presumed innocent, have been granted police inquiry bail. They are expected to appear in court when sittings resume after the strike by court staff.
Police have asked residents to share information that could help trace the remaining members.
