Police at Agogo in the Ashanti Region have arrested a 20-year-old man over the alleged defilement of a 13-year-old girl.
According to a police report, a relative of the girl came to the charge office with her on 30 October 2026 and reported that on 28 October 2026, at about 7.30pm, the suspect lured the girl to his room in a farming community near Agogo and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
Police said statements were taken from the complainant and the girl, and a police medical report form was issued for her to be examined at a hospital.
Officers were dispatched and arrested the suspect, who police said is in custody assisting with investigations.
GhanaCrimes is not naming the suspect or the community to avoid identifying the girl.
No charge has been reported. The suspect is presumed innocent.
