The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, says her ministry will work with National Security over threats and intimidation against students involved in the alleged sexual assault cases at Obuasi Senior High Technical School in the Ashanti Region.

According to GBC Ghana Online, the Minister visited Obuasi with her team to meet the students, who shared accounts that included threats and attempts to intimidate them into silence.

She expressed concern that the students' identities were being shared online and said the ministry would help to identify those behind the threats and to have the material removed.

Separately, Chale News, citing GNA, reported that the Methodist Church Ghana issued a statement on 29 October 2026 calling for a thorough, independent and transparent investigation into the allegations.

No one has been charged in connection with the allegations, according to the reports. Anyone accused remains presumed innocent.
