The Ghana Police Service has arrested two young men in connection with the alleged killing of a female commercial tricycle rider and the theft of her tricycle at Afrancho, near Konkoli.
According to MyJoyOnline, police identified the suspects as Peter Nchor Asadigina, 21, and Mudasel Dramani, 19. They were arrested at Hansua in the Bono East Region on Friday, 30 October 2026, following a tip-off, while travelling towards Techiman.
Police said preliminary investigations suggest the two hired the rider at the Ampabame Lorry Station in Kumasi on 29 October 2026 to take them to Afrancho, where they allegedly attacked and killed her and made off with her green Bajaj tricycle. Police said the suspects reportedly intended to use the tricycle for commercial work in Techiman.
A search after the arrests recovered a number plate, eight mobile phones, including an iPhone 12 Pro suspected to belong to the deceased, three SIM cards and an MTN MiFi device, police said. The body has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
Adom Online reported that the coach of Fabulous Ladies, Nana Atuahene, confirmed two suspects had been arrested in Techiman over the killing of one of the club's players, a 22-year-old who also worked as a tricycle rider. Adom Online and Modern Ghana placed Afrancho in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
The police statement did not name the deceased, and the motive has not been established. The two suspects remain in police custody assisting investigations. They have not been charged in court and remain presumed innocent.
