The Nsuta Circuit Court in the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti Region has sentenced a driver, Douglas Nyarnor, to 5 years' imprisonment for stealing GH¢195 belonging to an auto-rickshaw operator.

According to Adom Online, Nyarnor, described as an ex-convict and a resident of Jeduako near Nsuta, was sentenced on 29 October 2026 by the presiding judge, Simon Nketiah Gagah.

The prosecution told the court that the complainant, who operates a pragya at Nsuta, parked his vehicle in front of a provision shop near the Jeduako-Birem taxi terminal at about 8pm on 27 October 2026.

While talking with the shop owner, the complainant noticed Nyarnor around his vehicle and began watching him, the court heard.

The prosecution said Nyarnor opened the vehicle's unlocked money box, removed the day's sales and walked away.

Adom Online's report did not say how Nyarnor pleaded or whether the money was recovered.
