Police have arrested a woman after her baby, aged about 8 to 9 months, was reportedly found abandoned in a bush at Mbradan New Site in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region.
According to Adom Online, the baby was allegedly abandoned on Sunday, 1 November 2026, and was discovered by residents.
Sources quoted in the report alleged that the mother left the baby because her husband was unwilling to take responsibility, and that she was struggling financially with no source of income. She is reportedly from a neighbouring community.
The Ghana Police Service arrested her as investigations continue into the full circumstances of the alleged abandonment. The report did not give the child's condition.
The woman has not been named or charged, and she remains presumed innocent.
