The National President of the Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MoMAG), Edward Ofori Agyemang, has told agents nationwide never to follow customers to guest houses or hidden locations to complete transactions.
According to Chale News, citing GhanaWeb, the security advisory was issued on 31 October 2026, a week after mobile money vendor Christian Nana Amponsah was killed at Kasoa on 24 October 2026.
"My fellow agent, never leave your shop to follow a customer to a guest house or hidden place. Let every transaction be done in your shop," Mr Agyemang said.
He warned agents to be wary of strangers seeking off-site transactions, saying some criminals use young women as bait to lure agents before robbing or attacking them.
He advised agents who must work elsewhere to tell someone where they are going, travel with a trusted companion where possible, avoid carrying large sums of cash or float, avoid late-night transactions, install CCTV and keep police emergency numbers to hand.
Anyone arrested in connection with the Kasoa killing is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
