The Ghana Education Service (GES) says it is investigating an alleged assault on a student by two teachers at a senior high school in Techiman, Bono East Region, after a video of the incident began circulating.

According to Adom Online, GES described the video as disturbing in a statement dated 31 October 2026. The statement said the school's disciplinary committee has held its first hearing and its findings will go to management through the Regional Directorate to guide further action.

GES said the affected student, a final-year Agricultural Science student, has received medical attention and is responding positively to treatment.

Rainbow Radio reported that the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, said the Director-General of GES had been directed to apply the necessary sanctions to anyone found culpable.

No police complaint or arrest was reported. The teachers have not been charged with any offence and remain presumed innocent.
