A 35-year-old man has been arrested by the police in the Ashanti Region. The Ghana Police Service is holding him for allegedly defrauding 15 people.
The suspect is accused of taking GH₵260,000 from the victims. He promised them job opportunities in foreign countries like Canada and Germany.
These promises turned out to be false. The individuals did not receive any jobs abroad as promised by the suspect.
The arrest followed reports made by some of the victims to the police. An investigation into the claims is currently underway.
Authorities are urging the public to be cautious of unsolicited job offers, especially those requiring upfront payments.
The police have not yet released the name of the arrested suspect. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
