The New Patriotic Party (NPP) wants the heads of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), Ghana Airports Company Limited, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority and National Security removed immediately.

NPP Second National Vice Chairman Henry Nana Boakye told a press conference in Accra on 4 November 2026 that the party had counted at least 14 major drug seizures linked to Ghana between March 2025 and October 2026. He also called for the resignation of Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.

The seizures include about 3.9 tonnes of cocaine intercepted at Dunkirk in September 2026 and 46.7kg found on a Syrian national arrested in Beirut on 31 October 2026 after a flight from Accra.

The party wants a bipartisan parliamentary inquiry and publication within 7 days of a task force roadmap that President Mahama requested at an emergency security meeting on 17 September 2026.

NDC Deputy Director of Elections Tanko Rashid-Computer dismissed the demands, saying investigators were tracing the financiers of trafficking networks.
