The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has ordered Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, the Accra law firm where Manhyia North MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah is a senior partner, to hand over financial and tax records covering 2017 to 2025.
The demand is part of investigations into alleged criminal conspiracy, causing financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans, money laundering and tax-related offences.
EOCO invoked Section 19 of the Economic and Organised Crime Office Act, 2010 (Act 804), in a letter dated 30 October 2026 and signed by its Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer.
It wants the firm's audited financial statements, proof of corporate tax, VAT, levies and withholding tax paid to the Ghana Revenue Authority, details and statements of all its bank accounts, its local assembly operating permits and renewals, and a list of employees.
The firm has until 6 November 2026 to submit the documents.
