Markets and shops across the Greater Accra Region are set to be closed during the President's upcoming two-day cleanup exercise, following an alarming threat that businesses opening their doors would face arson.

The directive, announced by the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, aims to ensure maximum public participation in the sanitation initiative. However, the explicit threat of 'fire' for those who defy the closure has raised security concerns and cast a shadow over the planned event.
