According to 3News, the Attorney-General is seeking to overturn a Court of Appeal ruling that halted the criminal trial of former National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) Chief Executive Officer Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni. The prosecution, represented by Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, filed the appeal to challenge the October 19, 2026, decision that granted a stay of proceedings. The Court of Appeal had previously ruled that exceptional circumstances existed to pause the High Court trial while a separate appeal regarding the validity of the charge sheet is determined. The High Court had earlier dismissed an application by the defense to drop charges, though it did order the prosecution to amend specific details. The Supreme Court is now being asked to set aside the stay and allow the criminal proceedings to resume.
