Godson Glawu, who was trafficked at age 7 and rescued at 17, is advocating for steady funding for child protection systems in Ghana. He spoke at the National Justice Conference 2026 in Accra.

The conference theme was Sustainable Funding for Child Protection Against Labour Exploitation. Glawu highlighted how consistent investment in rescue and aftercare services dramatically improved his own life.

Now a chapter leader with the Ghana Survivor Network in Keta, Glawu shared his personal journey at the event. His experience illustrated the critical need for ongoing support for victims.

He emphasized that child protection should be treated as a sustained national priority by the government. This requires continuous financial commitment rather than short-term solutions.

Glawu's plea comes as a part of broader discussions at the conference aimed at reinforcing child safety measures across the nation.

The National Justice Conference brought together various stakeholders to discuss critical issues affecting justice and child welfare in Ghana.
