The Koforidua High Court has rejected a proposed 10-year jail sentence for 25-year-old Vera Asare, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the acid attack that led to the death of her boyfriend, Daniel “Anelka” Omane.
The court found the recommended sentence, reached through a plea bargain, to be insufficient given the circumstances of the crime. Further proceedings are expected to determine the final sentencing.
