Football player Achraf Hakimi must stand trial for a rape allegation. A judge issued the order to proceed with the trial.
The Nanterre public prosecutor's office had previously recommended that Hakimi face charges. This recommendation was made last August.
Hakimi is a defender for Paris Saint-Germain. He also plays for the national team of Morocco.
His lawyer, Fanny Colin, has announced plans to appeal the judge's decision. The appeal will challenge the order to stand trial.
