The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nurse Salomey Awiti Baffoe during her ongoing legal proceedings. The Association's National President, Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, conveyed this assurance during a visit to Nurse Baffoe in the Bono Region. Nurse Baffoe has been charged with abetment of crime, specifically the publication of false news, according to Sections 20(1) and 208 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). These charges are linked to allegations of assisting Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, known as Ghana Jollof, in circulating videos and recruiting others to distribute content. The allegations have not been proven in court. Mrs. Ofori-Ampofo stated that the GRNMA has been following the case and has provided legal representatives for Nurse Baffoe. She emphasized that while the matter is unrelated to Nurse Baffoe's professional duties, the Association remains dedicated to her welfare throughout the legal process. Nurse Baffoe has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
