The High Court is scheduled to hear an application by defence lawyers in the criminal proceedings involving former National Signals Bureau director Kwabena Adu-Boahene and two other accused persons.

According to The High Street Journal, the application will be heard at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 29 October 2026.

The defence is seeking to strike out portions of the prosecution's written response to its submission that the accused persons have no case to answer.

Defence lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea argues that some passages inaccurately represent the evidence recorded during proceedings.

At an earlier sitting, the presiding judge, Justice Achibonga, questioned the practical effect and legal basis of the application.

The judge indicated that the court would rely on the official record when determining the facts, while written submissions primarily assist with legal arguments.

The prosecution intends to oppose the application.

No determination on the disputed passages had been made at the time of reporting. The proceedings remain ongoing, and the accused persons have not been convicted in this case.
