The Court of Appeal has dismissed a second attempt by former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong to stop a defamation trial. The case was filed by Kwesi Twum, CEO of Multimedia Group.
The Multimedia Group and its radio station Joy FM are also part of the lawsuit.
Justices Angelina Mensah Homiah and Emmanuel Anter an Ayeh sat on the panel.
This ruling means the defamation case can proceed in the lower court.
The specifics of the original statements made by Mr. Agyapong are under contention in the ongoing legal proceedings.
Mr. Agyapong had sought to halt the trial before it could continue.
The court's decision allows the Judicial Service to move forward with hearing the defamation claims.
The outcome of the defamation trial will be determined by the courts.
