The Court of Appeal has dismissed a second effort by businessman Kennedy Agyapong to halt a defamation case. He had asked the court to stop the legal proceedings.

The lawsuit was filed by Kwesi Twum, the Chief Executive Officer of the Multimedia Group. Mr. Twum is suing Mr. Agyapong for comments made publicly.

The Multimedia Group and Joy FM are also named in the defamation case. Mr. Agyapong had previously tried to stop the case from moving forward.

A panel of Justices at the Court of Appeal made the decision on Tuesday morning. They ruled against Mr. Agyapong's latest plea.

This ruling means the defamation trial can now continue in the lower courts. The details of the original claims by Mr. Twum have not yet been fully heard in court.

The case will proceed following the Court of Appeal's dismissal of Mr. Agyapong's request.
