Police have arrested a 47-year-old woman in connection with the shooting of 2 people at the NTHC Estate in Sakumono, Greater Accra Region, and declared the principal suspect wanted.
According to Graphic Online, citing a police statement issued on 31 October 2026, Beatrice Mumuni is alleged to have led the principal suspect, Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, to the residence of George Atuguba, 57, and Irene Atuguba, 47, before the 2 were shot dead on Friday, 30 October 2026.
Police have offered a GH¢100,000 reward for credible information leading to Osei Anto's arrest and asked anyone with information to report to the nearest police station or call 191 or 18555.
Police said preliminary investigations suggest the killings may have followed a financial dispute, with George Atuguba allegedly having borrowed GH¢500,000 from the suspect and failed to repay it. Osei Anto reportedly went to the house that morning to demand repayment, and a misunderstanding allegedly followed before the victims were shot.
The victims were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead, and their bodies were deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary for autopsy. Citi Newsroom reported that the Baatsona Divisional Police Command is investigating.
Police statements quoted by Graphic Online and MyJoyOnline describe Irene Atuguba as George Atuguba's niece, while Chale News, citing GhanaWeb, reported a police statement describing the 2 as a married couple.
No charges have been reported. Osei Anto remains at large, and both he and the arrested woman are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
