The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, at the Koforidua traffic light intersection. Eyewitnesses reported that a private V8 vehicle, traveling at high speed, collided with a motorcycle as its rider attempted to cross the road. The impact caused the V8 to flip multiple times before landing in a drainage ditch, while the motorcycle was severely damaged. The motorbike rider, an employee at China Mall, and his pillion passenger sustained life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Residents attributed the crash to the motorist's excessive speed. Officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service have initiated an investigation into the incident and are urging drivers to observe speed limits.
