The Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC) has shut down three herbal medicine shops in Cape Coast for operating with expired licences. The affected businesses are Pennah Herbal Shop, Dank Natural Healthcare, and God is Able Herbal Centre. According to the Compliance, Enforcement and Inspection Officer of the TMPC, Nicholas Annan, some of these facilities had been operating with licences that expired three to four years ago. This action is part of a nationwide effort by the Council to enforce regulatory standards and ensure practitioners and facilities comply with licensing requirements. Mr Annan stated that the operators have been directed to renew their licences at the Council's office before resuming operations. He added that follow-up inspections will be conducted to verify compliance. The TMPC aims to ensure public health and safety by regulating the traditional medicine sector and will continue monitoring activities to prevent operations with expired licences.
