The Northern Regional Police Command will deploy 400 officers to secure the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional executive elections at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale on 13 and 14 November 2026.

Regional Commander DCOP Wisdom Lavoe said police intelligence pointed to rising tension ahead of the vote. He warned that insults, attacks, disruption and intimidation would not be tolerated.

Officers will be stationed at the stadium gates and across its inner, middle and outer perimeters, with others on patrol or on standby.

DCOP Lavoe urged anyone without accreditation to stay away from the venue to avoid confrontations with security personnel.
