AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine has given a new Caterpillar generator to the Obuasi Divisional Police Command. The generator will help the police in their daily operations. The mining company's Community Relations Manager, Mr. Edmund Oduro Agyei, announced the donation during a ceremony in Tutuka, Obuasi.

The generator and its installation cost GH¢550,000. This contribution aims to boost the police command's ability to maintain law and order. The new equipment will ensure a steady power supply, which is important for police work.

The Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Elizabeth Viney, expressed gratitude for the donation. She stated that the generator would greatly improve the command's operational efficiency. It will help officers to better serve the community.

The mining company said this donation is part of its commitment to the security forces. They aim to create a safer environment for residents and businesses in Obuasi. Supporting the police is a key part of their community development efforts.

The generator will be crucial for the police station's uninterrupted functioning. Power outages can disrupt important police services and communications. This new equipment addresses those challenges directly.

The Obuasi Divisional Police Command plans to use the generator to power its offices and communication systems. This ensures that police can respond effectively to incidents at all times. Community leaders praised the company's gesture.
