Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has asked the Health Committee of Parliament to collect all reports on a hit-and-run incident. These reports should come from the Ministry of Health, Korle-Bu hospital, and other agencies involved.
The committee will investigate claims that emergency care was refused to the victim. This refusal was reportedly because there were no available hospital beds.
The deceased has been identified as Charles Amissah, a 29-year-old engineer. He worked for Promasidor.
The Speaker’s directive follows public concern over the incident.
This aims to ensure that such failures in emergency care do not happen again.
The Health Committee is expected to present its findings to Parliament.
