The Ghana Police Service has warned motorists against fraudulent messages, sent in its name, that ask them to pay TraffiTech-GH traffic fines through unofficial channels.

In a statement on 4 November 2026, the police said genuine violation notices come only from the sender ID GPS-MTTD and never from an ordinary mobile phone number.

Motorists are advised to open the Electronic Notice of Violation and check the vehicle's photograph, number plate, location, date and time, and to watch the video where one is provided.

Fines can be paid only through the National Investment Bank payment portal or the 7100# USSD code, using the ticket number.

The police warned against paying any fine into a personal mobile money number. Camera enforcement under TraffiTech-GH began on 1 November 2026.
