The Bank of Ghana has named 20 mobile loan applications it says are operating without the required licence or authorisation, and has warned the public against using them.

In a notice issued on 2 November 2026, the central bank said the apps were operating in breach of its Directive for Digital Credit Service Providers in Ghana, introduced in September 2025.

The apps named are Active Loan, Boafo Cash, Cediln, Fair Moni, Fast Loan, Halo Loan, Jmoney, Kredi, KudiNow, LendJet, MeCedi, NhyiraCash, Palcash, Quick Eazzy, SikaFlow, SikaNea, Swift Lending, TrustCredit GH, Velzo and Zedvance.

The bank said the providers raised concerns about customer data privacy and consumer protection, and that it was working with the Cyber Security Authority to clean up the digital credit market.

Banks, specialised deposit-taking institutions and payment service providers have been told not to facilitate or process transactions for the unlicensed lenders. The Bank of Ghana said it would work with other state institutions to investigate and take enforcement action.

No prosecution of any operator has been reported.
