Dr Agbeti stated that Ghana cannot tackle the growing cybersecurity threat alone, especially as businesses, financial systems, and public services become more interconnected. Speaking at the 2026 Morocco Cybersecurity Week, he urged African countries to bolster cooperation between their cybersecurity agencies and foreign affairs ministries. This collaboration should involve sharing threat intelligence, conducting joint exercises, and coordinating responses to cyber incidents affecting multiple nations. He emphasized that international partnerships must yield practical benefits, support capacity development, and help institutions manage cybersecurity risks independently. Dr Agbeti also called for stronger national cybersecurity institutions, improved coordination among government agencies, and increased investment in technical skills. He urged African nations to deepen collaboration with regional organizations, development partners, universities, and the private sector to enhance their ability to prevent and respond to cyber incidents. The success of such cooperation, he noted, should be measured by improvements in incident response, information sharing, and the resilience of Africa's digital systems.
