The Ghana National Association of Traditional Healers wants the government to set up a development fund. This call came from Nana Sika Ansaba, the Eastern Regional Chairman.

He said the fund is needed to help the herbal medicine industry. It would support important areas like research into traditional medicines.

The fund would also help build better facilities for producing herbal medicines. This would improve how these medicines are made and stored.

The request was made during the association's Annual General Meeting. The meeting took place in Koforidua.

Traditional healers believe this fund will help regulate and promote herbal medicine. It aims to ensure high quality and safe products for the public.

Supporting the herbal medicine industry could lead to new jobs. It could also make traditional healthcare more accessible to people.
