The Chairman of Parliament’s Select Committee on Science, Environment and Technology, Yaw Frimpong Addo, is calling for a new authority. He believes a National Sanitation Authority is needed to properly manage waste in Ghana.

Mr. Addo stated that the country currently lacks a main body to guide waste management. He sees this as a problem that needs fixing.

Establishing such an authority, he explained, would help improve the overall system of dealing with waste.

Better regulation can lead to cleaner communities and healthier environments for everyone.

The committee is looking into ways to strengthen waste management practices nationwide.
