Ghana needs offshore patrol vessels to keep its waters safe. This call comes from Rev. Ntim Fordjour, a Member of Parliament and part of the Defence Committee. He spoke about the need for these ships on a radio show.

His statement followed a recent armed attack on fishermen. The incident happened near Senya Bereku. This shows a need to strengthen Ghana's maritime security.

Rev. Fordjour believes that having patrol vessels at sea would act as a strong warning. It would deter pirates and others who want to attack boats and fishermen.

The MP stated that these vessels would help Ghana protect its valuable marine resources. This ensures the safety of fisherfolk and commercial vessels operating in Ghanaian waters.

He added that investment in maritime security is crucial. This protects Ghana's economic interests linked to its coastline.
